Audi's car applies adaptive cruise control function

Las Vegas: The German automaker, Audi, said the new system could help drive a car within certain limits. The gadget is also accelerating and braking autonomously. Use of the tool is very easy, and only had to activate the system via the keypad. "The system can be used in lane highway or in urban areas, provided the route is not too complicated," adds Audi.

System, which is based on "adaptive cruise control function," is designed to work at speeds up to 37 mph. Two radar sensors monitor the fan-shaped, each with a 21-degree scanning angle and fields stretching up to 820 feet. A wide-angle video camera monitors the road signs and can detect other vehicles, pedestrians and guard rails. Eight ultrasonic sensors can also monitor the zone directly in front of the car and on the corners.

However, this gadget is not yet certain to be output Audi's newest commercial product. The system is also designed very sophisticated with radar sensors that not only detects vehicles in front, but also in front of him. "This allows the system can calculate the caravan path," explains Audi.

Audi launched a gadget or device of traffic monitoring system, Audi Traffic Jam Assistant at largest electronics exhibition in the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2012 in Las Vegas, United States. This gadget will most likely be applied to the flagship Audi A8 cars in the next few years.

"This technology can ease the driver's driving moments at times unpleasant, as in heavy traffic situations," Audi said in a statement quoted by InsideLine.com on Saturday (14 / 1).
