As reported by Inautonews , the official announcement has been made by the Japanese automotive giant . i - Road will be placed as a three-wheel electric vehicle with two seats . If according to plan , the vehicle began to hit the market next year .
Toyota i - Road itself was first introduced in the prestigious automotive event the Geneva Motor Show in March . with a length of 2,350 mm , width 850 mm and height 1,445 mm , this vehicle will be a Japanese manufacturer Renault Twizy as a direct competitor .
Toyota i - Road Concept will take the power from two electric motors mounted on the front wheel . The electric motor will be powered by lithium - ion batteries . Toyota claims the car is capable of accelerating up to 45 km / h , with a total range of approximately 48 km .
Toyota predicts i - Road , will play an important role to reduce congestion and air pollution . In contrast to mass transit , these vehicles will be able to answer questions with a range of transportation needs in urban areas.
