MLC will change Mercedes GLS

Stuttgart - As reported by Autocar, the SUV will be named by GLS with four seats. However, there is still a possibility of car names into MLC.

"The new model of the Tuscaloosa plant is an important element of our growth strategy. This is one of ten additional models that we will introduce in the next four years in all segments," said Head of Mercedes Dieter Zetsche.

Mercedes will introduce a new crossover SUV variant to compete with the BMW X6, 2015.

The German manufacturer states that the production of SUV variants will be done at the factory Tuscaloosa Alabama, within a period of four years with an investment of USD350 million.

GLS is no longer using the five seats as in the M-Class, due to more emphasis on sports classes to stay with four chairs. Roofline is more vulgar and hinted at the style of the CLS sedan.

Further details, GLS will be equipped with option three engine options, petrol engine 3.5-liter V6, V8 4.6 plus 3.0 V6 diesel. Also planned to attend a diesel-electric hybrid engine.

The main competitor is the BMW X6, which has been successfully able to surprise the world with 120,000 units sold since 2009. However, there are still gliding Audi Q6 planned in 2016. And also the Range Rover Sport for sale in 2013 or 2014.
