Hyunday recruits the new chief designer, Christopher Chapman from BMW AG

Irvine, - Hyundai America arrival of a new guest Christopher Chapman, a former designer at BMW AG, which in this Januari 3 officially joined Hyundai Motor America (HMA). He will lead the division and the new vehicle design concepts that his headquarters at Hyundai Design Center in Irvine, California.

Hyundai's chief designer and hope to continue the strong yqang memonetum of our vehicle designs," said Oh Suk-Geun, Hyundai's Senior Executive Vice President of Design Center in a statement.

According to Hyundai spokesman Jim Trainor, Chapman will replace Phil Zak who previously served as chief designer and unplug March. Phil re-joined with General Motors.

Chapman began his career in Isuzu Motors Ltd. in 1989 and won the design competition with his XU-1. The car was never shown at Tokyo Motor Show 1993. He then joined BMW in 1994 and entrusted the directorship of BMW automotive design 8 years later (2002). The BMW product are in control when it's like the X5, X3, Z4 and the BMW-1 Series E87.
