Yvan Muller taking Chevy Cruze win WTCC in Monza

"This race season started very well and I am very pleased with the results achieved. There's always a little extra pressure ahead of the beginning of the season opener but with age, you learn to cope. Victory at Monza is an unexpected victory," said Yvan Muller.

THE Chevrolet Cruze racer started the best start in the 2012 racing season which starts in Monza, Italy by dominating the two races and won five titles from six titles at stake.


World champion Yvan Muller won the second race, while Rob Huff secures second position in the first race while Alain Menu and Rob Huff came in second and third in race two and secure the position of 1-2-3 overall.

In the first two laps, three-RML Cruze Gabriele Tarquini tried hard to conquer, rider pole position. Yvan Muller managed to overtake at the end of the first round to take over the race, but out of his hands on the second lap when he cut the first hairpin bend.

French rider is back to lead and finished first. Meanwhile, Rob Huff and Alain Menu pursue Lesmo in the second round and left them far behind.

The Swiss rider fared worse when exiting the track. Luckily, both drivers may soon recover their position, Huff finally reached the finish line in second place and the menu at the seventh position.

Cruze individual riders were also performed brilliantly by Rickard Rydell finished fourth in the first race and Alex MacDowall in the seventh position in the second race.
