The legend's gone in peace, Carroll Hall Shelby!

LOS ANGELES - Shelby's name was first raced in the automotive world by winning the grueling race on the circuit during the 24 Hours of Le Mans, France, in 1959. After his victory at Le Mans, he switched to design a muscle car (typical U.S. muscle cars) and launched the Shelby Cobra and Shelby Mustang GT500.

Ford Shelby Cobra engine and frame using a British sport, is a variant of the most rapidly produced after premiering at the New York Auto Show in 1962.


 U.S. automotive legend Carroll Hall Shelby, who created the legendary Shelby Cobra sports car, Ford Mustang and the Chrysler Viper, has died at the age of 89.

Carroll Shelby is one of the longest survival after a heart transplant. Shelby's first time to use another person's heart on June 7, 1990, from a 34-year-old man who died of an aneurysm.

Edsel Ford II as a member of the Board of Directors of Ford Motor Company and great-grandson of Henry Ford, Shelby said that the figure is an innovator and world automotive legend. "He is an outstanding partner and close friend for over 60 years," said Edsel Ford

"We are all very sad, and felt a tremendous loss of a close relative of Carroll. We represent the entire automotive industry condole," said Joe Conway, president of Carroll Shelby International, Inc..

"Nothing can replace the Carroll Shelby and never will be. However, we promise to continue his hard work, by putting the team, products and vision fit his ideals," he continued.
