BMW and Toyota's examined the lithium ion battery on March



On March, BMW and Toyota agreed to examine the lithium ion battery in exchange for the supply of gasoline engines diesel BMW in 2014.

The two companies signed an agreement that the fuel cell system development, architecture and component development for the future of sports cars, electric powertrain and lightweight technology development.


Munich: Two giant manufacturers, Toyota and BMW continue to work together in creating cars and automotive technology. BMW and Toyota Motor Corp. this time agreed to develop a sports car, fuel cell technology, electric machinery and other lightweight technologies.

BMW Chief Executive Norbert Reithofer and Toyota President Akio Toyoda signed an initial agreement and expand strategic collaboration between the two automakers at BMW headquarters in Munich, Germany, recently.

"Toyota and BMW Group each sharing its vision and strategy of the car in the future. Together, we have a great opportunity to lead the industry through this transformation," said Reithofer, as reported by Automotive News page.

"Toyota has a strong commitment to environmentally friendly technologies, including hybrid and fuel cell. On the contrary, I believe the ability to develop the BMW sports car. I like to think of a sports car of this relationship," said Toyoda.
