selling three Honda Jazz models in the United States from Mexico


TOKYO - The new plant in Mexico, will play a key role in the plan Ito lift sales in North America to 18 percent in the number of 2 million units in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2017.

Honda Motor Co. plans to design three variants of the compact (compact) Fit or Jazz, including a model sedan, the new Mexican factory. The plant itself is currently under construction.

Besides Honda Jazz sedan, two other variants are the standard hatchback model and the crossover-based models of the Fit models. The news was leaked by one of the executives of Honda as reported Autonews.

The plan, Honda will sell three Jazz models in the United States. Japanese manufacturers are seeing a shift in the U.S., where small cars now become an idol.

Honda manufacturing facilities in Mexico is scheduled to begin operating in 2014. The plant has an annual production capacity reached 200 thousand vehicles. 30 percent of the production will be sold in Mexico and the rest exported.

In October, Honda President Takanobu Ito said, most of the production in New Mexico plant will be sold in the United States. But Ito declined to give exact figures.

In 2011 and Honda only sold 36,209 vehicles in Mexico. This year, sales rose 53 percent to 42,933 units, up to October 2012. Honda aims to reach 60,000 units by the end of 2012.
