steer-by-wire' is launched by Nissan. What is that stuff?

NISSAN announced plans to equip some Infiniti models with a system that has the ability to electronically control the steering wheel and no longer adhere to the conventional mechanical models.

The technology referred to by Nissan as the 'steer-by-wire' will be implemented on a mass-production car brand Infiniti homemade given. Nissan promised a year, we could see the car that carries the technology.
