 Renault introduces modular production technology "Common Module Family" with its alliance Nissan Motor Company. The move to align production between the two manufacturers to cut production costs with similar but not the same vehicle.



Jean-Michel Billig, Executive Vice President of Engineering and Quality Renult-Nissan said, this technology allows the two brands to cut the cost of design and production process of 30 to 40 percent. Also, utilizing the same components 20-30 percent until 2020.

"Our target is to cut the number of component suppliers globally to develop products internationally," said Jean reported by Bloomberg, yesterday (19/06/2013). All products of  Renault  Nissan  alliance will share 50 percent of the parts until 2020. This step starts from research and development center in France.

Components are provided in an integrated, composed of the parts (components) that were previously purchased separate small and used for compact and large models. The number of cars that are made in this way reach 1.6 million units per year or 14 Renaut and models of Nissan.

In 2015, this technology began to be applied to models and subcompact cars in the city next year (2016). Prime models that utilize this production system is the Nissan Rogue, Qashqai and X-Trail are targeted slide this year. Including Renault Escape in 2014, followed Laguda and Snenic.
