Mercedes-Benz has officially made the decision to produce a new model, Mercedes C-Class in 2015, outside of Germany. Manufacturer from the Bavarian State is going to produce the C-Class at its assembly plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, United States.
As reported Worldcarfans, Monday (23/06/2014), with the withdrawal of the C-Class production to Uncle Sam, the more C-Class models are cultivated outside their home country. Previously, the model is set to be sold in the United States and Canada have been produced in South Africa, London, and Beijing.
Mercedes-Benz C-Class 2015 is planned to be offered with two engine options, namely the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine capable of blowing power up to 241 HP with maximum torque of 229 lb-ft, and the twin-turbo engine with a 3.0-liter V6 capable of blowing power to 329 HP with maximum torque of 354 lb-ft.
"Many of our team members who have spent weeks and months to get to know the C-Class and the technology associated with these products," said one head of Mercedes-Benz Tuscaloosa plant.
In addition to being the production of the C-Class in 2015, the factory is also prepared to manufacture a vehicle type sport utility vehicle (SUV). And to increase the productivity of the plant, the Mercy also has sent 500 workers of the factory Mercedes in Bremen which specialized in producing the C-Class production to help the Tuscaloosa plant.
