Volvo celebrates anniversary

Volvo Group is now one of the largest commercial vehicle manufacturer in the world and owner of the Volvo Car Corporation Geely has sold nearly 500,000 cars annually.

ALTHOUGH Volvo brand is currently owned by the Chinese carmaker, Geely, Swedish automotive icon is currently celebrating the birthday-85. At 10:00 am last Saturday, April 14, 1927, the first mass production of the Volvo was born in OV4 figure.

The vehicle is out of the production line through the gates of the company in Goteborg. On the same day and time on Saturday, April 14, 2012, exactly 85 years later, the same car rolled through the same gate to commemorate the historic event.

In the course of that long history, Volvo has an interesting story to tell. The name 'Volvo' alone has registered more than 100 years ago, in May 1911 by the Swedish bearing manufacturer SKF (Svenska kullagerfabriken).

Volvo name itself, derived from the Latin conjugation 'volvere' means 'I roll' roll is synonymous with the performance of ball bearings SKF products.

16 years later the name Volvo was decided to split from SKF to be a car manufacturer that is designed specifically to deal with rough road conditions and the unique Swedish often freeze due to cold weather.

As a result the product was born strong and durable which makes it a powerful stick with brands that represent Volvo safety and quality to date. Volvo's most enduring legacy and become synonymous denganmerek is focused on the safety design even be a precursor for this business.

Volvo developed the three-point safety belt and introduced in 1959 as standard equipment that revolutionized the automobile safety standards around the world. Three-point safety belt has saved more than 1 million inhabitants.
