Kia Motors apply the philosophy of 'simplicity of straight lines' into a new bike project. K Velo is a joint project between Peter Schreyer Kia car designs, as leader of the Korean bike manufacturer 'Samchully'.
The project took 13 months in research and development company that designs under the direction of Peter Schreyer. Currently the bike is only available in Korea and sold at prices starting at U.S. $ 1,100.
FAR before Kia made its first car, the company is a manufacturer of bicycles. In 1944 Kia start with Kyungsung Precision Industries as a manufacturer of steel tubing and bicycle parts.
Currently, Korean firms seek to honor the history of their modest beginning with K Velo City. Bicycle design Peter Schreyer is carrying some elements related to cars made by Kia. Among these are the front basket which has a profile 'tiger nose' as in Kia cars.
Schreyer decided to design a mini velo for a project with 20-inch wheels with 11-speed transmission and a compact frame that is ideal for driving in the streets of the urban environment. K Velo also be present in variants of single speed complete with lightweight aluminum frame.
Bicycle Kia solely is not just a concept. They plan to make a full K and K Velo Velo City Speed intended to focus the attention of their customers towards sustainable transportation.
