BMW X4 projects will be continued

BMW X4 projects that have been heard since last year is reportedly being delayed. This delay, according to Autocar magazine, waiting for BMW to get a strategy to increase the similarity between the X3 and X5.

But it seems now that BMW wanted to finish first in the development of models X5 and X6 models of 2014, new X4 and then proceed with the project.

BMW reportedly will continue the project a new crossover to compete with the Porsche Tigers in terms of style, completeness and performance. Production crossover named BMW X4 will reportedly be launched in the United States in early 2014.

According to Autoweek, BMW X4 will be first shown in concept form at the Detroit Auto Show to be held in January 2013. These vehicles will use the platform and principles similar to the second-generation BMW X3, as well as the engine.

BMW X3 is now offered with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four and larger machines configured inline-six 3.0 liter turbocharger.

To distinguish X4 from X3, it will use a completely different design. The front will be much more aggressive, while the roof line more like a coupe. If difficult to describe so we can imagine that the X4/X3 is a smaller version of X6/X5.

BMW X4 will also offer a high-performance version of the model over the previous BMW X4 M although it has never produced X3 M. BMW X4 M seems to be a special version of the new turbocharged six-cylinder engine are expected to be used on the next generation M3 models.

Also rumored that BMW X4 M will offer a diesel version will use a 3.0-liter tri-turbo six-cylinder.
