It was announced by Daimler Chief Executive Dieter Zetsche told Reuters on Sunday (30/12/2012). He wants Mercy back to beat the top luxury car manufacturer Audi and BMW most late in 2020.
"I am confident that we will be in front of our rivals later than 2020," he said in an interview with Boersen-Zeitung.
Zetsche was hoping that the target can be fulfilled when he was still in charge at the top of Daimler. Zetsche at Daimler contract runs until December 2013, but probably in the month of February, the contract will be extended to 3 years.
