Reviving Matchless!


London, - Matchless has a sweet history since its foundation in 1899, to carve out a success story in racing. In 1938, Matchless and AJS became part of Associated Motorcycles (AMC). Both are producing models under their own brands.

In the troubled companies British motorcycles in the 1960s, Matchless engined 4-stroke engine two-step, replaced by Norton, ending a long history of independence. In 1967, Matchless with a single cylinder engine discontinued.

Remember the Matchless motorcycle? The British brand is now up again after decades of not producing. The brand will appear again thanks to Franco Malenotti, businessmen touring clothing BELSTAFF brand from Italy that have been bought, and quickly produce a new motorcycle in the near future.

Revitalization projects have been prepared from products developed from Matchless last, the G80, Silver Hawk and the Silver Arrow by adopting new technologies. In the early stages, are not produced on a large scale or limited. If exist anymore, the new will be in mass production.

Despite being owned by Italy, headquarters was not moved. Malenotti still want to retain the British icon. Development centers and offices to be built in London, and distributed marketing in the UK and Italy. As an entrepreneur apparel, Malenotti include special clothing with brand Matchless given to the second son, Emanuele and Michael.
