Australian Toyota factories follow General Motor

Sydney , - Finally two Australian Toyota factories follow  the factory of General Motor to close their production.

Toyota Motor Corporation will follow the lead of General Motors ( GM ) stopped production in Australia late 2017. This was conveyed by the Australian union representative , told Reuters on Wednesday ( 12/11/2013 ) .

Speculation is sticking out , just hours after announcing that production of GM Holden ( in Australia subsidiary ) closed . This decision is as following in the footsteps of Ford Motor Company which had already been doing the same thing , in May 2013 .

There are at least 2,900 workers at the two factories of GM , in South Australia and Victoria , in danger of losing jobs . The automotive industry in Australia continue to decline due to the strengthening of the Australian dollar exchange rate up to 50 percent against the U.S. dollar since 2009 to 2012 . Making your own export activity is not at all profitable for the principal .

Moreover , this situation also encourages imports more attractive because it can increase profit margins . With Holden 's keputsuan , then leaving Toyota the only brand which has a factory in the last kangaroo country .

" If you start putting deposits eggs in a little bag , then drop one of them , then you are in big trouble , " said Stephen Clibborn , Lecturer University of Sydney Business School , reported by Bloomberg ( 10/12/2013 ) .

If this condition persists, then it is possible that Toyota also will close its plant in Australia and tend to rely on  imports from neighboring countries ,
