Current Toyota Production System still combine the effective and old one

Toyota developed the Toyota Production System ( TPS ) since the post-World War II , in the era of 50s . TPS development carried out by engineers named by Taichi Ohno .

This method is different from the American automotive industry , where most of the wear approach to mass production and economies of scale to achieve production efficiency . Toyota emphasizes Just in Time ( JIT ) . Company focus eliminates wasted time and material of each step in the production process .

" The result is a process that is fast and flexible in providing what customers want on time with the highest quality and reasonable price " .

Observers are invited to compare the stages of production of automotive conventionally with TPS by using props such as toy Tamiya according to the set time .

Originally implemented in a conventional pattern producing cars with wheel casing past the post mounting , installation and assembling battery dealers demand customer order . After that , apply the TPS , and the result is the application of the TPS pattern turns out to provide production according to customer wishes , both in terms of quantity , timeliness , in addition to curbing the number of units lost or disabilities and the small number of stocks in the process .

" Demonstration of the TPS simulations provide valuable knowledge for us as a vocational technical high school students . Besides getting to know the stages of production , we are also getting to know the importance of efficiency , quality , and timeliness in producing a product before it is accepted by the consumer , " .
