Stuttgart, -This energy regeneration system of suspension make the braking better and Audi keep it real.
Audi wants to enter a new chapter in automotive technology to create energy regeneration system of suspension. This idea is a step ahead of the technology that is now commonly used, namely the system of braking energy regeneration.
Wasted energy will be used to reduce fuel consumption. Audi's head of research and development Dr Ulrich Hackenberg confirmed, this technology has been successfully developed, and in the end will be mostly found in the production model.
"Many people do not realize that the shock absorbers can be very hot. While working hard on bumpy roads, dampers may be 100 to 125 degrees Celsius. This energy is wasted as heat to the atmosphere. So, we will replace the suspension with the generator, "said Hackenberg, after the launch of the A3 e-tron, a plug-in variant of Audi's first hybrid, Friday (06/27/2014).
There is no further information whether this energy regeneration will debut in concept or production car. Just described, the collected energy is stored in batteries to help the car move. Most of it will be used to supply electrical power to the car.
Hackenberg said, this system can be used for performance-oriented models. Described, the energy that has been created can be returned to the suspension, so there will be four independent variables represented each wheel. This, said Hackenberg, can reduce the symptoms of body roll.
