TRANSMISI9-speed ZF is assumed as the final limit

TRANSMISI9-speed ZF is assumed as the final. It's justified by several outstanding mechanics.

By 2013, the company will begin making 9-speed gearbox in the United States, and they expect an increase in sales for the Chrysler Group will adopt this technology in the models with high sales volume.

This new gearbox technology is claimed to provide improved fuel efficiency by 16 percent compared with the 6-speed transmission models.

Although there is a 'natural limit' that has been mentioned by Sommer, in the next few years we'll see a 10-speed gearbox. Because Hyundai has said it was expanding. Coupled with the cooperation between GM and Ford that will create 9-speed automatic transmission and a 10-speed.

TRANSMISI9-speed ZF described by CEO Stefan Sommer as 'natural limits' because by adding one more gear will increase the complexity and weight of juftru not benefit in terms of fuel efficiency.

In an interview with Automobilwoche, Sommer said that no limiting to add one more gear, but you have to consider the law of diminishing returns. if the result is so, is the addition of teeth to be reasonable?

Three years ago began making ZF 8-speed gearbox are designed for cars and light trucks that run parallel machines. ZF said the 8-speed transmission can improve fuel efficiency by as much as 11 percent compared with 6-speed transmission.
