Now they are developing technology that can detect the condition of the driver . There are cameras ' anti - fatigue ' under the rearview mirror that will detect the condition of the driver .
When it detects the driver's central feature in a state of drowsiness , the car will beep five times as a warning . And if there is no response after five seconds of warning , the car will pull over and stop for 10 seconds .
" If you do not wake up in 10 seconds , there must be something wrong , " said Dr. Bjorn Giesler , project manager for the autonomous Audi cars in News.com.au.
" If you do not take control after 10 seconds , the car will stop and the system will call the police , " he continued .
